Electrode Dressing

GENERAL INFORMATION

The key to any successful welding procedure is in dressing your electrodes.  This can also be the most misunderstood part of resistance welding.

Analogous to Where the Rubber Meets the Road; your electrodes are what are in contact with your parts.  If the face diameter is not maintained, you will never get consistent welds.  If your electrodes are not periodically cleaned, they will pick up oils and carbon deposits and you will never get consistent welds.

In the automotive industry, they dress electrodes as frequently as every 150 welds.  Some aluminum welding applications require redressing after just 5 welds.

We sell counters to count your welds for the tip dressing function.  Every welder we build has a tip dressing function.  Dressing electrodes is as important as using current for your weld.  This point can not be reiterated enough.

With that said, here are some options for you.
